How to update your FocusNet password
With the number of security threats over the internet rising by the day, it is becoming increasingly important to update your password regularly.
Luckily, updating your FocusNet password is an easy process, and can be done in two ways.
Through your FocusNet Cloud Desktop connection
- While logged into the Cloud Desktop, press the Ctrl, Alt and End keys together on your keyboard
- You will then see the below screen – click on Change a password to update your password
- You will need to fill out 3 boxes:
- Old password: This is your current password
- New password: This is the new password you wish to set
- Confirm password: Enter your new password again to confirm
- Click on the arrow button to confirm the change
- You will then receive a message indicating your password has been successfully changed
Through the FocusNet website
If you are unable to log into the FocusNet Cloud Desktop due to an expired password, you can reset your password through our website to get back up and running.
- Click here to access our password reset page, or click on the ‘Lock’ icon at the top-right of our website
- You will then be presented with the below page
- Similar to the above method, you will need to fill out 4 boxes
- Domain\user name: Enter your primary email address into this box, or whichever login you use to access the FocusNet Cloud
- Current password: This is your current, or old password
- New password: This is the new password you wish to set
- Confirm new password: Enter your new password again to confirm
- Then click Submit to confirm the change
- You will see a red message appear saying Your password has been successfully changed
Password tips
You may receive an error if the ‘old password’ entered is not correct, or if the new password you are entering does not meet requirements.
Some requirements for a new password can be:
- Minimum length: Your password cannot be too short
- Complexity: Your password may need to contain a mix of letters (upper and lower case), numbers and symbols
- History: Your new password cannot be the same as a password you have used before
